Thomaston, Maine - Trekkers will be holding its third annual Trekkers Week program next week for 7th grade students attending Thomaston Grammar School and Rockland District Middle School. Led by Program Manager Meredith Lynt, this fun-filled week will give students a chance to experience a sneak preview of life as a Trekker, where they will participate in activities similar to the ones that are part of Trekkers’ six-year core programming.
“I am really excited to meet some of this year’s 7th grade class and grateful to the RSU #13 district and RASA (Rockland Afterschool Alliance) for their support in making Trekkers Week happen,” said Program Manager, Meredith Lynt.
Monday will kick off the four-day, action-packed week on the climbing wall at Camp Kieve in Nobleboro. Students will have an opportunity to go snow tubing at the Camden Snow Bowl and take to the bowling lanes at Oakland Park Lanes in Rockport. There will also be plenty of Trekkers-style games throughout the week.
Trekkers also held a similar Trekkers Week program for 7th grade students from St. George School in the fall. The 40 available spots for the core program for all 7th grade students from the communities of RSU #13 will be opening at the end of January. More information about the community information meeting will be announced in the paper in the weeks to come.
