Registration begins at noon and all fish must be weighed and registered by 5 p.m. Registering your fish is a $5.00 fee. The Derby will be awarding prizes for both youth and adult categories including cash prizes for adults of $100 for the Largest Fish, sponsored by Chuckie Farmer's Bait Shop in Hope, $75 for second prize and a third prize of $50. Trophies will be awarded for all Youth categories. In addition there will be a raffle with the grand prize of an ice auger donated by Prock Marine. Many other raffle prizes include gift certificates from local businesses, jackets, hats. lap blankets, bait boxes, fishing poles, flash lights and much, much more.
Derby raffle tickets are now on sale at the following locations: Lincoln's Country Store, Warren; Johnson's Sporting Goods, Rockland; Tolman Pond Market, Rockport; Chuckie Farmer's Bait Shop, Hope; Mic Mac Market, Union; Four Corner Variety, Union and Medomak Gun, Union. Raffle winners need not be present to win.
Hot food, beverages and desserts will be available at the event with the proceeds to benefit the Knox County Fish and Game. So mark your calendar for a special day with family and friends at the Ice Fishing Derby, a family-friendly annual event for over 70 years.
