GROUP GUITAR CLASSES GETTING KICKED OFF
Two new group guitar classes are getting started for the new year at MCMA. Level I classes will be held on Monday nights from 7:00 to 8:00, and focus on basic chords, strumming, and general theory. Students will learn how the fretboard works by studying songs, which students are encouraged to suggest. Level II will be on Tuesdays from 7:00 to 8:00 and expand on fretboard and music theory, soloing and improvisation techniques, and approaches to different styles and genres of music.
AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT PROGRAMMING
A primary goal of Midcoast Music Academy is to provide area schools with outstanding music enrichment programming, and students this winter have been making some serious noise around town! The Rockland Middle School RockStar Ensemble and Songwriter's Class are showing off there skills at the end of session showcase Friday January 25th at 5:00pm, and the performance is open to all who would like to attend. The Thomaston Grammer School begins it's new after school session next week, and MCMA will be offering both a drum ensemble and a guitar lab for the students. A new program in St. George has also just gotten started, the Jackson Memorial Rock Stars, meeting Thursday evenings and will be performing a concert in March, so stay tuned...
ENROLLING STUDENTS
Micoast Music Academy is currently accepting private students on a variety of instruments, including acoustic and electric guitar, bass, drums, percussion, fiddle, violin, strings, piano, vocals, and more! MCMA offers expert instruction in a professional, fun, and productive environment.
