Thursday, January 31
Ana Antaki, practitioner of traditional food preservation techniques, on “Preserving the Harvest with Dehydration,” at the Camden Public Library, 7:00 pm. Part of “Food History Month.”
Saturday, February 2
“Simply Books!” is the Camden Public Library’s book group for adults. Simply bring along whatever book you’re currently reading and share it with the group, 2:00 pm at the Camden Public Library.
Opening reception for Lincolnville artist Stefan Pastuhov’s exhibit at the Camden Public Library, “Streams of Thought,” 3:00 pm. The public is cordially invited. The exhibit will be on display through February in the Picker Room.
Sunday, February 3
“America’s Music” series continues with “Bluegrass and Country Music,” with intro and discussion led by Glenn Jenks. Free movie series, 3:00 pm at Camden Public Library.
Tuesday, February 5
Free writing workshop at the Camden Public Library, 6:00 pm, led by Lee Heffner, 6-week session. Call the library at 236-3440 to register.
Linda Robinson of Bar Harbor presents a talk at the Camden Public Library at 7:00 pm on “A Maine Midwife in the Congo” based on her book Sunday Morning, Shamwana: A Midwife’s Letters from the Field. Free and open to all.
Wednesday, February 6
Midcoast Stroke Support Group meeting, 10:00 am at the Camden Public Library. All are welcome.
Thursday, February 7
“Sounds Like Old Times” Camden Library Coffeehouse, 7:00 pm, featuring Dave Peloquin and Bob Webb, as part of the town’s “America’s Music” celebration. Legendary music from the early days of radio, including the “Blue Yodeller” Jimmie Rodgers, the Delmore Brothers, the Carter Family, Hank Williams, and various string bands. $7 admission.
Sunday, February 10
“America’s Music” series continues with “Rock,” with intro and discussion led by Glenn Jenks. Free movie series, 3:00 pm at Camden Public Library.
Monday, February 11
“Indoor Air Quality and Health” presented by Kathleen Miel of Evergreen Home Performance, 12:00 noon at the Camden Public Library, part of the Wellness Brown Bag Lunch series, a collaboration between the Library and the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Tuesday, February 12
The Reading Group of the Camden Philosophical Society monthly meeting, 4:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, covering select readings from Hegel and Krukowski, open to interested readers.
The Financial Literacy Series continues at the Camden Public Library with a presentation by Linda Buckmaster on “Budgeting: Finding your Money Power Payment,” 7:00 pm.
