Kindle ebook presentations at Rockland Library

Rockland, Maine - Interested in reading free ebooks on your Kindle or iPad?  Stop by Rockland Public Library Thursday afternoons through February to learn how to check out library e-books on your device.  Digital titles can be checked out for up to two weeks, at the end of which the title is automatically deleted – no late fees.

Borrowing a library e-book on a Kindle or Kindle app is a two-step procedure, starting at the InfoNet download library (download.maineinfonet.org) and ending at Amazon.com to complete the library loan.  Kindle owners will need to be able to log in to their Amazon account in order to use this service.  If there is time, we will discuss other sources of free ebooks on the internet.

Join us Thursday afternoons in the Friends Community Room at Rockland Public Library.  An active library card at a participating library is required to use the download library.  This workshop repeats Thursday, Feb. 7, 14, 21 & 28 at 2:30 pm.  Rockland Public Library is located at 80 Union St. in Rockland.  For more information call the library: 207-594-0310.

The Maine InfoNet Download Library (download.maineinfonet.org) is Maine’s online lending library of thousands of e-books and e-audiobooks.  It contains fiction and non-fiction titles for adults, teens, and children.  The top five downloaded titles in 2012 were Maine, The Hunger Games, The Help, The Litigators, and Explosive Eighteen.
