An evening on Acupunture

Rockland, Maine - On Tuesday January 15 at 6:30 PM in the Community Room of the Rockland Library, four licensed acupuncturists, each has a distinctive approach to the practice of acupuncture, will give a presentation followed by a question and answer segment.

The four panelists, all licensed acupuncturists, come from different backgrounds and each has a distinctive approach to the practice of acupuncture. Abi Morrison is influenced by practices such as taijiquan and Qigong.  She encourages her patients to practice these gentle exercises and to build awareness of the health benefits of Asian dietary therapy and local and Chinese herbs. Eileen Murray was drawn into the world of acupuncture after studying the Chinese language and traveling to Hong
Kong and China.  Her practice of 21 years is enhanced by additional training in reiki, craniosacral therapy and tuina, a form of asian bodywork therapy. Mary O’Herin blends her early training in Swedish Esalen and Deep Tissue Massage, Healing Arts, and her post-graduate studies in Toya Hari style (non-insertion) acupuncture to develop her own method of treatment. Jolinda Rockett comes from a background as an intensive care nurse; in 1986 she became a licensed acupuncturist, and ten years ago she began specializing in homeopathy and has run a holistic health practice in Camden, Maine, for the last 23 years.
