WHAT: Public hearing to discuss proposed hemp rules
WHEN: January 7, 2020, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
WHERE: Deering Building, 90 Blossom Lane, Augusta, Room #101
WHY: On December 18, 2019, the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry proposed amendments to the Code of Maine Regulations 01-001, Chapter 274 Rules for Growing Hemp. Until the Department finalizes the rules, DACF will not be taking new applications to grow hemp and all interested parties are encouraged to attend this hearing and participate in this timely and important conversation. 
Written comments on the proposed rules are being accepted through 5:00 PM, January 20, 2020, and should be submitted to Gary Fish, State Horticulturist, 28 State House Station, Augusta, ME 04333-0028 or email gary.fish@maine.gov.
