January happenings at the Augusta CareerCenter

AUGUSTA, Maine — The Augusta CareerCenter, part of the Maine Department of Labor, together with its partners, offers many services to help people find employment or upgrade skills and employers to find qualified workers. 

Most services/events are provided on a walk-in basis. Others may require appointments or pre-registration in person or by phone at 207-624-5120 unless a different number is listed.
The following services and programs are available at no cost to the public.

CareerCenter Hiring Fair
Here is a great opportunity to meet face to face with recruiters! Research the companies you are
interested in ahead of time, bring plenty of resumes, and dress to impress! Representatives from several companies will be here interviewing for current openings. No appointment required.
Monday, January 27, 2020, 2–4 p.m.Located at the Augusta CareerCenter, 45 Commerce Dr. in Augusta

CareerCenter at Educare and Waterville Public Library
These 2-hour sessions assist with learning about available scholarships, signing up for the Maine JobLink, searching and applying for jobs and building your resume. A Career Center Consultant will also discuss resources available at your local Career Center, including the Maine JobLink, Vocational Rehabilitation, and the eligibility requirements for these programs. These sessions are offered as walk in services, no sign-up is necessary.

Each of the twelve statewide centers provides public computers with internet access, Microsoft Office, resume/cover letter writing software, and O*Net software for personal skills assessment.  Employers can list their open positions on Maine JobLink and use our online system which matches jobs with candidates. All CareerCenter services are provided at no charge to employers and job seekers. Veterans and eligible spouses receive priority of service in all Department of Labor programs.
