Women's Lacrosse Sprints Past Conn College In Season Opener

Katie Miller led Bowdoin with four goals against Conn. College
NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Bowdoin College women's lacrosse team won their season-opener at Connecticut College, 12-7, on Sunday afternoon.

The 13th-ranked Polar Bears move to 1-0 on the season while the Camels drop to 0-1.

Game Highlights

The Camels led 2-1 after the first 5:24 thanks to a pair of early goals from Jamie Navoni and Clara Bisson.
Bowdoin dominated the remainder of the half, outscoring the hosts 5-1 over the fina 24:17, including two goals apiece from Katie Miller and first-year Fiona Bundy.
Bundy added to her tally with the opening goal of the second half, extending Bowdoin's lead to 7-3.
The Camels used a 3-0 surge to cut into the Bowdoin lead, closing the gap to 7-6 on a Julia Loesch goal with 19:41 to go.
The Polar Bears put the game away with a 5-0 run, sparked by a pair of player-down goals by Katie Miller and Elizabeth Growney.
Kate Kelly, Miller and Eliza Denious closed out the spurt for Bowdoin, which pushed their lead to 12-6 with under five minutes to play.

Katie Miller led all players with a four-goal effort for Bowdoin while first-year Fiona Bundy scored three goals in her first collegiate contest.
Eliza Denious added two goals and an assist along with three ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Jamie Navoni led Connecticut College with two goals in the loss.
Erin Morrissey made eight saves for Bowdoin in goal. Nina Fazio stopped 12 shots for the Camels.
Caroline Maxwell had three caused turnovers and three ground balls for the Polar Bears, who held a 30-19 edge in shots.
