ENGINEERS GET BY NOR’EASTERS, 14-3

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Massachusetts Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team defeated the University of New England 14-3 in non-conference action at Roberts Field in Cambridge, Mass. on Saturday afternoon.
 
James Santoro led the way for the Engineers with five goals on the day. Jack Strachan added three scores in the victory.
 
MIT jumped in front 4-0 with 2:45 in the second before Zach Bossi broke through for UNE with 2:13 to play. The Engineers extended the advantage to 8-1 until Collin Morrow made it 8-2 heading into halftime. Mitch Mullin scored a late goal for UNE.
 
Sam Mackenzie made 25 saves for UNE in the loss. Lukas Drezler-Bruce led the Engineers with 22 stops in 54:40 minute in net.
 
The Nor'easters continue their road trip on Wednesday, March 13 at Wilkes (Pa.) at 4 pm.
