Men's Soccer Tames Huskies in Tuesday Non-Conference Win

Hunter Miller gave Bowdoin the lead in the 11th minute on Tuesday

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's soccer team scored three goals in the second half to pull away from the University of Southern Maine on Tuesday afternoon at Pickard Field, 4-0.

The Polar Bears move to 4-2-2 this season while the Huskies fall to 1-8-1 overall.

How It Happened

• Bowdoin controlled the majority of the first half but found the back of the net just once as a nice feed from Sam Ward set up Hunter Miller, who chipped a shot over oncoming USM goaltender Simon Hulbert at 10:25.
• Andrew Jones rang one attempt off the cross bar in Bowdoin's next best chance to score as the Polar Bears held a 15-1 shot advantage in the first half
• Hulbert did his best to keep the Huskies in the contest, making 12 saves, including a diving stop on CJ Masterson in the second period
• The flood gates opened for Bowdoin in the final 27 minutes as the Polar Bears scored a trio of goals to seal the win
• Jake Stenquist's first career goal came at 63:37 from Nick DeStefano
• Colton Hall found the back of the net from CJ Masterson at 78:34
• Moctar Niang rounded out the scoring at 85:19
• Stevie Van Siclen stopped the only shot he saw in the first half from USM's Ahmed Adnan 
• Bowdoin held an 8-0 advantage in corner kicks
