Oceanside Girls Advances To Bangor After Prelim Win

Rockland, Maine - The Oceanside High School girls earned a place in a quarterfinal match up against Camden Hills on Saturday, February 14th, 2015 after defeating MCI in prelim action. Oceanside hosted MCI girls on February 10th in Rockland, Maine in what would be a great game.

Oceanside managed to hold off MCI in a 54-45 win, earning them a spot in the quarterfinals in Bangor, Maine on February 14th, 2015 at the Cross Insurance Center between 10 and 10:30am. They will be playing Camden Hills girls who defeated Foxcroft Academy.

Scorers for Oceanside were Ashley Gardner 6 points, 4 free throws, Caitlin Raye 2 points, Jillian Brooks with 2 free throws, MaKenna Brooks 7 points, one 3 pointer, Payton Billingsley 2 points, Brianna Dugan 12 points, 2 free throws and the top scorer of the night, Emily Gould with 23 points, 6 from two 3 pointers and 7 free throws.

MCI had a great night, wasn't able to capitalize on pulling off a win against Oceanside, Scorers were Courtney Barker 9 points, one 3 pointer, Ashley Alton 8 points, two 3 pointers, Cassie Miller 7
points, one free throw, Sydney Morton 2 points, Katie Hughes 11 points, two free throws and April McAlpine 9 points with 5 free throws.

Congratulations to the Oceanside girls for advancing to Bangor for a quarterfinal game against Camden Hills.
