New Plants for 2015 at Merryspring Nature Center

Acer pseudosieboldianum Regal Petticoat
Camden/Rockport, Maine - Hammon Buck, owner of Plants Unlimited, will present New Plants for 2015 at Merryspring Nature Center on Tuesday, February 24 at 12:00 noon.

Every year thousands of plants are hybridized and a few new varieties are discovered. After several years of testing and trial garden observation, only a few make it to the marketplace.

What are the best and brightest plants for 2015?  Buck will discuss new annuals, perennials, roses, shrubs and trees for zone 5 mid coast gardens for this season.  Also discussed will be the propagation and distribution from finding new plants to introduction to the marketplace.

Award winning plants for 2015 including the Cary Award Winners for New England will also be covered and there will be plenty of time for questions.

Plants Unlimited was started by Buck after graduation from Cornell University in 1978. This company carries the largest selection of trees, shrubs and perennials for discerning gardeners and is always looking for the best new plants.

The Winter Talk series is co-sponsored by Allen Insurance & Financial, and Farley & Son Landscaping. Tuesday Talks are open to the public for $5, with free admittance for Merryspring members.

Merryspring is a member-supported, non-profit nature education center and park located at the end of Conway Road just off Rt. 1 by the Hannaford shopping plaza in Camden. For more information, call Merryspring at 236-2239, email info@merryspring.org or visit our website at www.merryspring.org .
