Eat the Suburbs!

Camden/Rockport, Maine - Permaculture designer and educator Lisa Fernandes will lead a presentation on small-scale residential food production at Merryspring Nature Center on Tuesday, March 3 at 12:00 pm.

Lisa will share her story of how a typical, small Maine residential property was converted to a low-input, high-yielding local food paradise, complete with vegetables, fruits, nuts, mushrooms, eggs, and meat. She will share many innovative design ideas and techniques suitable to almost any property size and budget.

Fernandes is the Executive Director of The Resilience Hub in Portland, a collaborative non-profit that seeks to build resilience at the personal, household and community levels through skill-sharing events and workshops.

The Winter Talk series is co-sponsored by Allen Insurance & Financial, and Farley & Son Landscaping. Tuesday Talks are open to the public for $5, with free admittance for Merryspring members.

Merryspring is a member-supported, non-profit nature education center and park located at the end of Conway Road just off Rt. 1 by the Hannaford shopping plaza in Camden. For more information, call Merryspring at 236-2239, email info@merryspring.org or visit our website at www.merryspring.org.
