UPDATED..Developing....Interstate Pile-up in Etna, 70+ Vehicles Involved, No Fatalities

UPDATE 5:40pm More than 70 vehicles involved in the Interstate pileup this morning in Carmel and Etna, with 50 of the vehicles having to be towed. 17 persons were treated at Bangor hospitals
UPDATE 12:50pm: I-95 pileup: Most of the wrecks have been removed, but there continues to be a few tractor trailers in the roadway.
UPDATE...There are reports that 40+ vehicles are involved.
UPDATE...There have been no fatalities, however a couple of the injured appear to be in serious condition.
State Police say Interstate 95 between Newport and Bangor is shut down for a crash involving more than 20 vehicles.

The crash has shutdown both northbound lanes and motorists should take the exits in Etna and Newport to avoid the crash site.

Troopers say at least a half dozen people have been injured. There is no immediate word on the condition of the injured . The crash involves many cars, a school bus and a tractor trailer.

The collisions began around 7:30 in heavy snow that was falling in the area. The Interstate will be closed at the crash site for several hours.
