Mass Accident Update

Bangor, Maine - EMMC is part of a community response to a mass accident on I95 north near the Carmel exit that happened around 8 am this morning. As of 10 am, we have received 11 patients in our Emergency Department, all in good to fair condition.

Community members who believe their loved one has have been involved in the accident and may be at a local hospital can call the Red Cross at 561-6202. Once a patient has been confirmed to be at EMMC, community members can check on their status by calling 973-8101.

EMMC is providing appropriate care to all patients who have arrived at our Emergency Department, and we anticipate being able to meet the needs of any additional patients that may arrive.

A gathering area has been set up at EMMC to accommodate family and friends of patients who may arrive at the hospital.

EMMC will provide additional updates to media approximately every 30 minutes.
