Hallowell, Maine - The Harlow Gallery's annual Summer Members' Art Show and Sale is on view July 11-August 2, 2014, and the public is invited to meet the artists at a free public reception on Friday, July 11 from 5-8pm. The Harlow Gallery is located at 160 Water Street in downtown historic Hallowell. Hours are Wednesday - Saturday, 12-6pm or by chance or appointment.
During the Harlow's Summer Members' Art Show and Sale, artwork can be purchased off the wall and taken home the same day. Visit the Harlow Gallery in July for a varied selection of work by Maine artists: painting, drawing, printmaking, fiberarts, photography, sculpture, fine craft and more. Participating artists this year include Cynthia Ahlstrin, Debra Arter, J. Donna Asmussen, Dianne Chicoine, James Chute, Gary Cooper, Marjorie Cormier, Cheryl Herr-Rains, Ramona du Houx, Janet Favor, Jeanne Finley, Bill Haley, JK Herman, Russell Kahn, Don Kerr, Eileen Kerr, Judith H. Long, Larinda Mead, Nancy Meader, Scott Minzy, Kay Morris, Anita Morrisey, Ethan Pierce, John Polhemus, Laurie Proctor-Lefebvre, David Randall, Jamie Ribisi-Braley, Judith Schuppien, Felicity Sidwell, Mary Becker Weiss, Carolyn Wiley and many more.
Also on view through August 2nd is “Vacationland: Artist’s View“, a mini-exhibition and fundraiser featuring handmade artists’ postcards available for purchase for just $20 each. All proceeds benefit programming at the Harlow Gallery. The Harlow Gallery is owned and operated by the Kennebec Valley Art Association is a 501(c)3 non-profit founded in Augusta in 1958. The KVAA opened the Harlow Gallery at its current location in Hallowell in 1963.
