Augusta, Maine - President Obama has ordered flags to half-staff in honor of Nelson Mandela.
Attached is a proclamation signed by the President late yesterday in remembrance of Nelson Mandela, South Africa’s first elected black president. In this proclamation, the President directs that flags be lowered immediately to half-staff until sunset Monday, December 9.
