Come Audition to “Sail the Ocean Blue” with the Lincoln County Community Theater

Damariscotta, Maine - Lincoln County Community Theater, the resident theater company at Damariscotta’s Lincoln Theater, will be setting sail on Gilbert and Sullivan’s “H.M.S. Pinafore” in early March and is eagerly seeking “sober men and true” along with their “sisters and their cousins and their aunts” to take part in this delightful, humorous and tune-filled voyage.

The production will be a concert performance with orchestra so it will not require that the score be memorized. Anyone wishing to be in the ensemble will be invited to do so, and will be joined by fellow passengers Jason Phillips as Ralph Rackstraw, Nancy Grace Dersham as Josephine, Tom Crutcher as Captain Corcoran and Don Carrigan as Sir Joseph Porter. John Mulcahy has enlisted to serve as Music
Director and Conductor with swabbing duties being shared by that able-bodied seaman Morton Achter. Much like Queen Isabella and Columbus, the generous folks at Peapod Jewelry will be sponsoring this maiden voyage.

In order to place people in the proper chorale sections and to fill out the roster of principals and supporting roles, auditions will be held on Saturday, January 12th from 10am to 1pm and Monday, January 14th from 6pm to 8pm at the Lincoln Theater, 2 Theater Street, Damariscotta. Those of you who auditioned at the season audition in September are welcome to attend the audition but will also be contacted directly to see if you are still interested in “booking passage.” Those auditioning are asked to bring a short song. An accompanist will be provided. Chorus rehearsals will initially be held once a week on Sunday afternoons starting Sunday, January 19th. Performances are scheduled for the weekend of March 8th through March 10th.

If you are unable to attend but would like to participate or have any other questions, please email John Mulcahy directly at lcctseason@gmail.com. “Never mind the why and wherefore”, get thee to the Lincoln Theater for this wonderful winter time of song and merriment.
