Author Tom Dowd speaks at Rockland Library Tues. January 22nd

Author Tom Dowd speaking on Tuesday January 22nd
Rockland, Maine - On Tuesday January 22 at 6:30 PM in the Community Room of the Rockland Library, Camden author, speaker, trainer, and coach Tom Dowd will give a talk based on lessons learned from his new books, The Transformation of a Doubting Thomas: Growing from a Cynic to a Professional in the Corporate World, and From Fear to Success: A Practical Public-speaking Guide. A book signing will immediately follow the presentation.  With over 20 years of experience in the financial industry in management and leadership roles, Dowd runs his own business, Thomas Dowd Professional Development & Coaching.  Dowd will discuss his inconsistent journey trying to maneuver through the complexity of a corporate environment and teaches us the importance of learning to be ourselves, regardless of whether it is in personal or professional  environments.  Although the presentation tells his story about his transformation, it is really about the audience.  Dowd says that our own ability to transform may be right in front of us.  We have all been presented the gift of feedback and have come up against many milestones that may turn our lives in a different direction.  What we do when we pass these milestones and open these gifts can have a significant impact on our personal and professional success, and in many cases our satisfaction.  You will find your own deeper understanding of yourself that will take you to places where you have never imagined.  Dowd will move you past hope and into action.  Personal and professional success is reachable.  Come on a journey with Dowd shares his lessons learned on self-awareness, belief, and action.

Special accommodations for persons with disabilities can be made with 48 hours notice. Please call the Library at 594-0310.

This evening is one in a continuing Thursday evening series of literary, film and musical offerings sponsored by the Rockland Public Library & The Friends of the Rockland Public Library. Admission is free.
