BOSTON, Mass. – The Thomas College men's basketball team took a 78-61 victory on the road at Wheelock College in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday night at Winsor Gym.

The Terriers nab their third-straight victory to move above .500 at 4-3 while the Wildcats fall down to 1-6.

The first half was a back-and-forth game as both teams stayed within four points of each other.  The largest lead in the first half was four points as the Terriers went into the locker room with a 34-30 lead.

Thomas came out of the gate strong in the second half with 16-4 run capped off with six points by senior forward John Morgan (Sanford, Maine).  Wheelock would respond with their own 15-4 run to close the gap to 54-49 with 9:47 left in the game.  Five points would be the closest the Wildcats would get as the Terriers pulled away as the time expired.

Sophomore Zach Mackinnon (Kennebunk, Maine) held a game-high 19 points for the Terriers along with four rebounds.  Morgan added 18 points, eight rebounds, and three assists while Carlos Gonzalez (Kennebunk, Maine) finished with a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds.  Angel Gonzalez (Orlando, Fla.) also reached double figures once again with his ten points.

Wheelock's bench led the way for the Wildcats scoring 32 points, including 14 points from Blake McNamara and 13 points from Kadeem Apply.  Thomas won the rebounding battle 53-38 and outshot the Wildcats 44.9% to 29.2%.

The Terriers will play one more game before the Christmas break as they travel to UMaine-Farmington on Saturday, December 9 for a 3:00 p.m. conference matchup.
