Rockland, Maine - According to Rockland Fire Chief, Knox Regional Communications Center received a call for a car versus pole in front of Good Will on Camden Street in Rockland. Rockland PD, Rockland Fire & EMS responded with Rockland Rescue 3 arriving on scene to a report of moderate damage to the front passenger side of the vehicle. The driver had self-extricated and was sitting on the ground upon our arrival. The driver was transported by Rockland Fire & EMS to PenBay Medical Center in Rockport and from there LifeFlight was called for transport to a higher care facility. No other occupants were in the vehicle and no other reports of injuries.
The pole that was damaged is owned by FairPoint Communications and crews were on their way to replace it due to the heavy damage.
Rockland Squad 3, Rockland Rescue 3, and Rockland Car 1 responded to the scene.
