On Sunday, November 1, live Auction bidding will start at 9:30 am and silent auction bidding will be available until 11:00 a.m. at which time silent auction bids will close. There is no charge to become a bidder and admission to the Museum is free all weekend. About 20 big ticket items will be auctioned beginning at noon. These special items include a five-
day, all-inclusive stay at the Divi Aruba Resort on the Caribbean island of Aruba; a new Fisher Xtreme V Series snow plow; a choice of two villa rentals in France, original artwork and assorted luxury lodging and dining packages.
“This event is one of the Museum’s most important annual fundraisers,” said OHTM Public Relations Director Jenna Lookner, “the variety of items — including some truly exceptional finds, gift certificates to favorite local businesses, experience packages and more — ensures that the Great Fall Auction is a favorite community event.”
The Museum has received hundreds of donations from local businesses including gift certificates for professional services, accommodations, dinners, lobsters, heating oil, auto supplies, original art, electronics, magazine subscriptions, household items and much more.
The Auction includes several private donations made by members and friends of the Museum. These include antiques, office and home furniture, tools, collectibles, housewares artwork and more.
Saturday's flea market will consist of hundreds of donated items not included in auction. Proceeds from both the flea market and auction will be used to support Museum programs.
Donations will be accepted through October 30. All donations are tax deductible within the limits of the law.
The Museum is located at 117 Museum Street (off Rt. 73) in Owls Head, three miles south of Rockland. There is plenty of free parking, and refreshments will be available.
