‘Ghosts of the Boothbay Region’

Halloween Season Signing of ‘Ghosts of the Boothbay Region’ Sat., Oct. 24 at Sherman’s Books

Just in time to add a haunted chill to the Halloween season, Sherman’s Books & Stationery in Boothbay Harbor will host a book signing with Greg Latimer, author of  “Ghosts of the Boothbay Region."

Latimer, who has previously written “Haunted Damariscotta,” will be on hand to sign copies of both books during the event beginning at 1 p.m. and continuing until 2 p.m.

The public is invited not only to meet Latimer, but to tell their own ghost stories as well. “I’m always looking for new stories, both locally and nationally, so please feel free to drop by and share your tale,” Latimer said. He will be joined by his wife Sally Lobkowicz, who as The Lady in Red Cloak leads popular evening walking tours through in town Boothbay Harbor.

In a unique twist, Latimer and Lobkowicz will also invite visitors with smart phones to upload a free application called “Ghost Radar” that turns their cellular communications device into an instrument that detects the possible presence of paranormal entities that may be nearby. “We’ll be able to offer visitors an introduction on how to use this application, and perhaps enable them to perceive a bit of the paranormal world around them,” Latimer said.

“Ghosts of the Boothbay Region” and "Haunted Damariscotta" not only tell compelling and thoroughly researched tales of paranormal activity, but offer a healthy dose of history. “The books are produced by Arcadia Publishing and the History Press, the largest publisher of historical books in the world,” Latimer said. “Therefore, it was important to me that our readers also enjoy the historical aspect of these stories and their locations.”

For more information on the book signing, contact Latimer at 207-380-9912 or greglatimer@yahoo.com.
