FH: Husson shuts out Pilgrims, 8-0‏

HENNIKER, N.H. – Husson shut out New England (N.H.), 8-0, in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action on Saturday at Don Melander Field. The Eagles win their 10th-straight game (including playoffs) against a league foe.

Husson (4-6, 3-0 NAC) opened the scoring five minutes into the first half as Mikayla Toth received a corner and sent in a pass that was one-timed in by Britt Mellor. Kerianne Downing made the score 2-0 in the 17th minute after putting in a loose ball. The Eagles tacked on two more first half goals, including one from Taylor Lovley and one by Olivia Plaisted.

Husson added four additional goals after intermission, including a penalty stroke by reigning NAC Player of the Week Libby Kain. Three different players scored the other three goals, including Heather Douglas, Toth and Austyn Thomas.
Kaitlin Dolloff (3-3) started in net in the win. Abby Greenleaf played the second half.

Michaela Clark (2-10) saw the bulk of time in net for the New England (2-12, 0-3 NAC), finishing the game with 18 saves in 54:57.
The Eagles outshot the Pilgrims 36-0 and held the edge in penalty corners 15-1.

Husson travels to Rivier (N.H.) for a non-conference game on Monday, Oct. 12, starting at 6 p.m. ET.
