Colby Men’s varsity 4 boat sixth at Head of the Charles

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The Colby College men’s varsity 4 finished in sixth place out of 46 crews in collegiate 4 racing at the Head of the Charles Regatta on Saturday and Sunday.

The crew of Allyson Redhunt (coxswain), Ethan Ashley, Liam Rex, Dan Spellman, and Fred Bower have had a solid fall season of rowing. The crew finished in a time of 17 minutes, 36.978 seconds.
While the men’s varsity 8 did not row this weekend, Colby was represented well. Pete Morelli ’02 teamed with Sean Wolf to win the men’s master 2 event in 18:05.578 in a field of 19 boats.
 
Colby head coach Stew Stokes and his crew finished in 10th place (17:20.755) out of 56 boats in the men’s senior master 8 event. David Muller P’17 also competed in the men’s senior master 8 and was 22nd in 17:36.263.
 
Colby graduates Jill Howell ’12 (coxswain), David Jensen ’12, Spencer Crim ’09, George Iverson ’15, Tim Roberts ’05, Noah Teachey ’13, current assistant coach Andrew Wall ’12, Will Brewer ’11, and Tim Corkum ’11 finished in 53rd place (18:22.099) in the men’s alumni 8 race.
 
David Watson ’15 had success with his crew by taking 12th (15:51.217) out of 40 boats in the men’s club 8 race.
 
In the men’s master 4 event, Sam Gray ’05 and his crew took 14th place (18:55.94) and Ken Dupuis ’94 was a place back in 15th (19:05.345).
