Colby College Women’s soccer falls in wild final two minutes

BIDDEFORD, Maine — The Colby College women’s soccer team tied the game with 1:49 to play, but University of New England tallied with just 18 seconds left in a 2-1 non-conference victory Tuesday.

Colby drops to 3-6-1 heading into Saturday’s road game at Wesleyan University at 11 a.m. The Nor’easters moved to 8-3 overall.
 
Katrina Holt scored her first collegiate goal for Colby at 88:11 when Emily Martin, just over the midfielder stripe, pushed a pass to her for a breakaway.
 
The game appeared to be headed toward overtime when Dickerson scored on a breakaway from Kayla Hamel with 18 seconds to play.
 
After more than 72 minutes of scoreless play, the Nor’easters struck first on Jessica Meaders’s fifth goal of the season. Anna Michaud’s cross from the left side was one-timed by Dickerson.
 
Ashley Conley stopped eight shots for the Mules.
