Camden/Rockport, Maine - Save your seeds! Merryspring Nature Center will hold a seed-saving workshop on Saturday, August 24 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Saving seeds is a fun, cost-efficient, and simple way to stay connected to a garden. Join Brijin Thomas and Heirloom Garden’s Diana Chapin to learn the principles and practices of seed collection, extraction, drying techniques, and storage. A focus will also be on open-pollinated and heirloom seeds. Participants will be able to practice with, and take home, seeds from the gardens at Merryspring.
The cost of this workshop is $5 for Merryspring members, and $10 for non-members. Space is limited to 15 participants, so pre-registration is required. To sign up, please contact Merryspring at 236-2239 or info@merryspring.org.
The 2013 Weekend Workshop series is sponsored by Camden Real Estate.
