Orono, Maine -- University of Maine women's basketball head coach Amy Vachon has announced the signing of Milana Nenadic. Nenadic is a 6-3 forward from Kitchener, Ontario.
"We are thrilled to announce the addition of MIlana to our Black Bear family," Vachon says. "Milana is an athletic, versatile player that will add much needed size to our program. She has experience at the international level and comes from a basketball family. In addition to her on court prowess, Milana is a wonderful person and exceptional student. We are so excited to announce Milana Nenadic will be joining us at UMaine in 2022!"
Nenadic served as a captain at Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute High School where she averaged 25 points per game in 2020-21 season. On the international scene, Nenadic was named to the U16 Team Canada National team in 2021 and was ranked as the No. 15 high school prospect in North America by Blue Star Basketball and the top-rated Canadian in the 2023 graduating class.
In 2020, Nenadic was named Most Valuable Player at Cameron Heights, was selected for Blue Star Top-30, and recognized for Blue Star Saturday at the NCAA Women's Final Four in 2020. In 2019, Nenadic represented Canada in the 2019 BALLIN Across borders Canada vs. USA All-Star Game. Nenadic registered 21 points in her All-Star appearance.
Nenadic guided her club team to a 57-1 record in 2019, earning a 2019 Jr. NBA National Title, after leading her high school program to a 28-1 mark in 2019. Nenadic's teams captured the Ontario Cup Championship in 2019, the Ontario Basketball League X Championship in 2019, was the a member of the first Canadian team to win Made Hoops Nike Rose 7eague Championship in 2019, and earned a silver medal at the 2019 Jr. NBA Global Championship.
Nenadic's brother, Milos, is currently a member of the UMaine men's basketball team.
