Winter Weather Alert: Winter Storm Watches Issued For Western Maine Tuesday-Wednesday Morning

Winter Weather Alert: Rockland, Maine - National Weather Service out of Gray has issued a Winter Storm Watch for western Maine Tuesday through Wednesday morning.

Snowfall may add up to a foot or a little more or less depending on exact track.

...ANOTHER SNOW STORM FORECAST TO AFFECT MAINE AND NEW HAMPSHIRE
MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH EARLY WEDNESDAY...

.Another area of low pressure is forecast to develop off the North
Carolina coast Monday, passing south and east of New England and
into the Canadian Maritimes by early Wednesday. Snow is expected
to develop from south to north beginning late Monday night in
southern Maine and New Hampshire reaching mid-coast and central
Maine by early Tuesday morning. The snow will become heavy at
times during the day Tuesday before beginning to taper off Tuesday
night. Snow may linger in the mountains and foothills into
Wednesday. There is still some uncertainty as to the exact track
of this storm. If the storm tracks closer to the coast, more
snowfall would be possible. A track further to the south, and
lower snowfall amounts would be expected.

* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Plan on difficult travel conditions,
  including during the evening commute on Tuesday. Total snow
  accumulations of 6 to 12 inches are expected, with locally
  higher amounts.

* WHERE...All of New Hampshire and central and western Maine.

* WHEN...From late Monday night through Wednesday morning.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow will be heavy and wet, especially
  across southeast New Hampshire and coastal Maine. This could
  lead to isolated downed trees and power outages. Significant
  reductions in visibility are possible.
