WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College women's tennis team fell to
Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts 7-2 on Saturday in a North
Atlantic Conference match at the Harold Alfond Athletic Center.
The Terriers dropped all three doubles matches to start the contest. The pair of Lindsey Allen and Olivia Mora fell 8-4 in first doubles. Amelia Guimond and Katie McAllister also fell 8-4, while Mia Navarro and Rachel Gillis lost 8-3.
MCLA took four of the six singles matches. In first singles, Allen
dropped straight sets to Emily Deaso 6-1, 7-5. Mora picked up the
Terriers first point, defeating Taylor Turner 6-4, 6-2. Guimond fell in
third singles 7-5, 6-0, while Navarro took Anna Despart to a third set,
but lost 6-0, 4-6, 0-6. McAllister picked up the other Terrier point,
defeating Rebecca Waterhouse 7-7, 6-1. Rachel Gillis was defeated in
sixth doubles 6-4, 6-4.
The Terriers will wrap up their regular season today, Sunday, October 4
in a NAC match against Colby-Sawyer at the Harold Alfond Athletic
Center.
