In the victory, Bowdoin junior Katie Doherty surpassed 1,000 digs in her career, becoming the sixth player in Polar Bear volleyball history to reach the plateau.
The Polar Bears rolled to their sixth consecutive victory and improved to 8-3 (3-0 NESCAC). The Camels fall to 6-5 overall (0-4 NESCAC) with the setback.
How It Happened
- Bowdoin controlled the first two sets, 25-14 and 25-10 before the Camels rallied in a hard-fought third before falling 26-24
- Tied at 24 apiece in the third, Michelle Albright put Bowdoin on top with a kill off a feed from Quincy Leech. Hailey Wahl followed up with a strong service for Bowdoin, forcing an attacking error by Conn. College that sealed the win.
- Doherty racked up 13 digs to reach the 1,000-dig plateau for Bowdoin. She also notched five service aces
- On Senior Night at Bowdoin, Christy Jewett put home 10 kills and earned 12 digs. Wahl had four kills and a pair of blocks.
- Michelle Albright put home 10 kills for Bowdoin and also had 10 digs and five service aces.
- Quincy Leech had 27 assists for the Polar Bears.
- Conn. College was led by six kills from Sam Hunter and five from Jenny Kellogg.
- Caroline Branigan had 13 digs while Katia Elisman dished out 13 assists for the visitors.
- Bowdoin will return to action today at noon with a huge NESCAC match against Tufts University in Morrell Gymnasium, before playing a non-conference match against Keene State at 5:00 p.m.
- Conn. College will travel to Worcester, Mass. for a pair of matches tomorrow at Clark University, against Farmingdale State (1:00 p.m.) and Clark (3:00 p.m.)
