Christy Jewett Named NESCAC Volleyball Player of the Week

Christy Jewett ranks second all-time at Bowdoin in career kills

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin senior co-captain Christy Jewett (Sunnyvale, Calif.) has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week.

Jewett was outstanding in three wins against conference opponents last week as Bowdoin extended its winning streak to eight matches. She racked up double-figure kills in each win, including 19 kills and six digs in a key NESCAC win over Tufts on Saturday. Jewett finished the week averaging 4.08 kills and 2.92 digs per set, while hitting at a .308 rate. With her performance last week, she moved into second place all-time at Bowdoin in career kills (1,137).

The Polar Bears are currently the only NESCAC team undefeated in conference play at 4-0 and stand at 10-3 overall this season. Bowdoin will return to action this weekend when they host Trinity on Friday (8:00 p.m.) and Wesleyan on Saturday (2:00 p.m.) in their final two regular season home matches of the fall.
