Mets Win 7-2 to Complete Four-Game Sweep in Portland

Portland, Maine - Gabriel Ynoa went seven innings and the Binghamton Mets (47-42) completed a four-game sweep of the Sea Dogs (32-59) with a 7-2 win at Hadlock Field on Monday afternoon.  Binghamton completes their season series at Hadlock Field winning all 10 games over the Sea Dogs.

Portland would strike first with three hits in the first inning off of Ynoa, culminating in Sam Travis' RBI single to score Marco Hernandez to give the Sea Dogs a 1-0 lead.

Portland wouldn't get another baserunner until the seventh inning.  Ynoa (W, 6-6) retired 17 in a row after Travis' RBI single in the first.  Travis would break the streak with a leadoff single in the seventh.  Ynoa finished going seven innings and allowing one run on four hits while walking none and striking out five.

The Mets scored three runs off Mike Augliera (L, 2-13) in the third inning.  Dustin Lawley hit a two-run double off the top of the Maine Monster, then Xorge Carrillo followed-up with an RBI single to give Binghamton a 3-1 lead.  The Mets added three more runs in the fifth to run Augliera out of the game.  Augliera allowed six earned runs on seven hits in 4.2 innings, walking three and striking out three.

Sam Travis finished 3-for-4 with two RBI for Portland and has hit safely in 11 of his last 13 games to bring his average up to .286.  Marco Hernandez went 1-for-4 with two runs scored to extend his hitting streak to a team-best 13 games.

All Eastern League teams will be off tomorrow as the All-Star break begins.  The Sullivan Tire All-Star Classic will be held at Hadlock Field on Wednesday, July 15th at 7:00 PM.  The game will be televised regionally on NESN with Tom Caron and Mike Antonellis on the call, as well as on 95.5 and 95.9 WPEI with Mark Perlman-Price and Bob Lipman on the radio call.  Gates open at Hadlock Field at 3:00 PM and pregame radio coverage begins at 6:40 PM.
