Cuevas and Austin Bibens-Dirkx (L, 3-5) faced off as the starting pitchers and both were impressive. Cuevas allowed just three hits in five scoreless innings, walking three and striking out four. New Hampshire quickly answered in the top of the seventh off of Williams Jerez. Christian Lopes worked a leadoff walk and was sacrificed over to second base by Roemon Fields. After Shane Opitz lined out, Kevin Nolan came through with a two-out, RBI single to score Lopes and tie the game.
The Sea Dogs responded in the bottom of the seventh off of Bibens-Dirkx. After a leadoff walk to Tzu-Wei Lin, Keury De La Cruz hit a hot shot to first base that ate up KC Hobson and ricocheted into shallow right field, allowing Lin to score from second base on the error.
