How Sweep it is! 'Dogs Close out 'Cats with 7-2 Win

Portland, Maine - The Sea Dogs completed a four-game sweep of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats with a 7-2 win on Sunday afternoon at Hadlock Field.

Portland wraps up their best homestand of the season, winning six of seven and completing their first series sweep of the year.  The four-game sweep at Hadlock Field is the first for the Sea Dogs since September of 2010.

Just two days removed from their season-high 21 hit output, the Sea Dogs (39-63) offense got going again and bashed 14 hits in the win.  Manuel Margot went 3-for-5 with a triple, RBI, stolen base, and two runs scored.  Aneury Tavarez hit his third home run of the season and finished 1-for-4.  Tim Roberson, Mike Miller, and Carlos Asuaje each had two hits apiece.

Justin Haley (W, 4-11) earned the victory for the Sea Dogs, allowing two earned runs on six hits in five innings.  Heri Quevedo worked two scoreless innings in relief and struck out four, and Jorge Marban closed out the game with two scoreless innings of relief.

Casey Lawrence (L, 10-9) was the losing pitcher for the Fisher Cats, allowing five runs (four earned) on 10 hits in five innings.

The Sea Dogs hit the road to begin a three game series in Trenton against the Thunder tomorrow night.  Danny Rosenbaum (0-2, 8.00) makes the start for the 'Dogs against Kyle Haynes (2-6, 3.18) of the Thunder.  First pitch comes at 7:00 PM, pregame coverage begins live on the WPEI U.S. Cellular Sea Dogs Radio network starts at 6:40.  Tickets are available for the next Sea Dogs' homestand beginning Thursday, July 30th, and can be purchased by phone at 207-879-9500 or online at seadogs.com
