Rockland, Maine - The 195th Maine Army National Guard Band, 30 members strong, stationed out of Bangor, Maine performed at the 68th Maine Lobster Festival on Thursday, July 30th, 2015 in Rockland, Maine.
According to their website, The 195th Army National Guard Band is comprised of musicians from all over the state of Maine. The 195th offers a wide array of performing groups, including a full concert band, marching band, brass quintet, sax quartet jazz combo and a rock group.
Their mission, "To provide music throughout the full spectrum of military operations and instill in our Soldiers the will to fight and win, foster the support of our citizens, and promote our national interests at home and abroad." This mission may be slightly modified to fit the needs and exigencies of the State of Maine, by order of the Governor. The 195th Army Band promotes readiness by performing music. They provide music that promotes troop morale, unit esprit, and civil military operations. The Band provides music for troop gatherings and activities, military and religious ceremonies (IAW AR 165-1), civil affairs, disaster relief, and psychological operations. The 195th also performs for a broad array of community events such as "Home Days", parades, community concerts, commissionings etc.
This thirty member band sounded great as they performed at the 68th Maine Lobster Festival.
