Bangor, Maine - In observance of National Assisted Living Week®, September 8 to 14, assisted living facilities affiliated with Rosscare will host a series of events developed as a special opportunity to bring together residents, families, employees, volunteers, and the surrounding community to celebrate “Homemade Happiness.”
“Homemade Happiness” is the theme for the 2013 National Assisted Living Week ®. This theme encompasses the connection that occurs in the community between the staff, residents, and families as they build warm, welcoming, and vibrant homes. “Homemade Happiness” is a time to recognize the efforts, small and large, of every individual in the community that turns a residence into a home for countless assisted living residents.
“We are so proud of the compassionate care and attention provided at each of our partnership homes,” explains Amy Cotton, nurse practitioner and EMHS director of Operations and Senior Services Quality. “All our assisted living facilities find unique opportunities to make their facility a special place for the residents; a place they can call home.”
Some of our family’s special events in recognition of this week include:
Sylvia Ross Home and Ross Manor, Bangor – 9/10 – will be making homemade crafts and “Ms. Snuffles” the pig will be visiting; 9/12 Engel place will become a pizza parlor; 9/20 – will be hosting a cookout for staff, residents, and family. Also, on 9/22, they will be throwing a special celebration for a resident who is turning 101.
