Windjammers hosted the Mariners from Oceanside High School on September 4th, 2013. In the varsity games was filled with lots of back and forth with Camden's number 4 scoring in the last 25 seconds of the first half. In the second half Oceanside's Jackie Thorbjornson, number 4 scored leaving the game in a dead lock. This dead lock resulted in a overtime which ended with Oceanside's Graver scoring and winning the game.
"Amanda Hoppe, she is an amazing defender," said Oceanside coach Joanna Hall. "Her instincts are so good and she is a fun, fun player to watch."
"I have a lot of faith in Jackie and she doesn't let me down or her teammates," said coach Hall. "She works so hard out their and I have to say the reason she works so hard on the field is she works hard off the field too. You always see her out running, involved in a lot of different activities and stays in shape. And she plays a lot of field hockey, she just loves the game."
Results for the junior varsity games was 3-1 Oceanside victory over their host Camden Hills Regional High School.
The games today showed a lot of hard work which will make it interesting to see how these teams season go.
