Governor Paul LePage news conference at the 66th Maine Lobster Festival announcing new legislation including 3 million in promotion of Maine lobster world wide.

Rockland, Maine - This morning Maine's Governor Paul LePage held a news at the 66th Maine Lobster Festival to anounce the new legislation [LD486] that will provide nearly 3 million dollars to promote Maine lobster in Asia, Europe and around the world.  These will not be taxpayer dollars but money raised from the industry.  It is hoped that this advertising will open and expand markets for Maine Lobster world wide.

This was also Milissa Philbrook the 2013 Maine Sea Goddess's first official duty of her reign.

  "August is Lobster Month" in the state of Maine and to celebrate the state will be sending Maine lobster to all of the governors.

Following the news conference Governor LePage was treated to a lobster dish prepared especially for and named after him by Cafe Miranda's  Kerry Altiero  Maine’s 2012 lobster chef of the year.
