LOCAL ICON RECEIVES RECOGNITION FOR PATIENT CARE

BRUNSWICK, ME—In a presentation at the Full Medical Staff Meeting of Mid Coast Hospital on December 11, John Desjardins was recognized with the organization’s first annual, “Unsung Hero Award.” Desjardins, pharmacist and owner of Wilson’s Drug Store in Bath, received the award for “his impressive dedication to his profession and his unfailing efforts to help people and relieve pain.”

Dr. Jay Mullen, President of the Medical Staff, and Dr. Carl DeMars, Primary Care Physician in Bath, presented the award citing examples of the outstanding level of care that Desjardins has become known for including, “pre-filling medication boxes for patients in need, delivering medications to homebound patients, and preparing medications after hours for patients in dire situations.”

Mid Coast Hospital’s Medical Staff established the new recognition program based on the recommendation of physicians wanting to pay tribute to individuals that make a difference in the lives of their patients and contribute to the greater good of the community which it serves.
