The National Weather Service out of Gray, Maine has issued this following advisory for Interior Cumberland, ME;  Androscoggin, ME;  Kennebec, ME;  Interior Waldo, ME;  Coastal Cumberland, ME;  Sagadahoc, ME;  Lincoln, ME;  Knox, ME;  Coastal Waldo, ME.


WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 3 AM EST SUNDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAY HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW... WHICH IS IN
EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 3 AM EST SUNDAY.

* LOCATIONS... SOUTHERN AND CENTRAL MAINE... EXCEPT YORK COUNTY.

* HAZARD TYPES... SNOW.

* ACCUMULATIONS... 3 TO 6 INCHES OF SNOW.

* TIMING... 1 PM TODAY THROUGH 3 AM TONIGHT.

* IMPACTS... ACCUMULATING SNOW WILL MAKE ROADS HAZARDOUS THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

* WINDS... NORTHEAST 5 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 20 MPH.

* TEMPERATURES... HIGHS IN THE MID 20S TO LOWER 30S TODAY AND LOWS IN THE TEENS TO LOWER 20S TONIGHT.

* VISIBILITIES... FREQUENTLY A HALF MILE OR LESS IN SNOW.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW WILL CAUSE PRIMARILY TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW COVERED ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES. USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING AND ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO REACH YOUR DESTINATION.

... A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR 3 TO 6 INCHES OF SNOW HAS BEEN ISSUED FROM MIDDAY TODAY THROUGH LATE TONIGHT FOR SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE AND SOUTHERN MAINE...

.LOW PRESSURE OFF THE MID ATLANTIC COAST WILL INTENSIFY RAPIDLY AS IT MOVES TO THE NORTHEAST TODAY AND TONIGHT... STAYING OUT TO SEA. HOWEVER... THE TRACK OF THIS LOW IS JUST CLOSE ENOUGH TO PRODUCE SEVERAL INCHES OF SNOW OVER SOUTHERN AREAS OF MAINE AND NEW HAMPSHIRE... WITH THE HIGHEST TOTALS NEAR THE COAST. ONCE THE LOW HEADS FOR THE MARITIMES LATE TONIGHT AND SUNDAY THE SNOW WILL END WITH STRONG AND GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS TO USHER IN DRIER BUT COLDER WEATHER.

Drive safe if you're out and about this afternoon, tonight and early tomorrow as snow impacts the area.
