MOODEY ART EXHIBIT AT PWA

Damariscotta, Maine - Penelope Moodey will be exhibiting her paintings at the Pemaquid Watershed Association (PWA) office suite in downtown Damariscotta from December 3 to January 11.  The exhibit entitled, “Surrounding Energy,” brings together a series of paintings on the subject of energy.  The public is invited to a wine-and-cheese opening reception for Moodey on Friday, December 7, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at PWA.

Moodey received a B.A. from Brown University in 1958 and later a Master’s degree in Studio Art from Marywood University.  Her work has been shown in solo exhibitions at Bowdoin College, at the Suraci Gallery in Scranton, PA, and at several venues near her studio in Damariscotta.  Beginning in 2004, Moodey began a collection of work entitled “Capturing Energy” that explores how she sees and expresses the energy around us.  She searches for that energy with the human figure, including both the body and the soul.  She more recently has started exploring the energy of the natural world.  In this show at PWA she pulls together the works related to humans and the works related to the environment.

The exhibit may be viewed weekdays from 9:30 to 4:30 p.m. by visiting PWA above Salt Bay CafĂ© in downtown Damariscotta.  For more information, call 207-563-2196 or visit www.pemaquidwatershed.org.  Moodey is donating 40% of proceeds from sales to support PWA’s mission of conserving the natural resources of the Pemaquid Peninsula.
