Scholarships Available for those Starting or Returning to College

Belfast, Maine - Thinking of how you can change the direction your life is going in? Need someone to help you brainstorm the next path in your life? Thinking you want to start college ñ or perhaps finish that college degree you started years ago?  Thinking you need a second chance? And more than that, are you wondering how you will pay for college?

We have a number of scholarships that are available just for students taking classes at the UMaine Hutchinson Center. Stop in or go to our website to
download the Scholarship Application Packet. If you call us, we can also mail you the Scholarship Application Packet. Last year we awarded over $40,000 is local scholarships to Hutchinson Center students! Some of the local scholarship funds include: Best of the Best, Ann & Harris Bixler, Ira M. Cobe, Shirley & Ronald Jarvella, Fred Hutchinson, Andrew Kuby (Rotary sponsored), Senior College, Midcoast AAUW and Seaport Family Practice Health Professional (among others).

Call the University of Maine Hutchinson Center in Belfast at 338-8000 and schedule an appointment with our Academic Advisor/Student Services Coordinator, Jose Cordero. If you need advising, financial aid resources, help signing up for courses, or someone to talk to about where to begin, this is the place to start. Our motto is, “Education to fit your lifestyle.”

Registration is just underway for the Spring semester ñ so you are just in time to take the next step in your career or educational path. Many Spring courses start the week of January 14th.
