Maine Windjammer Association's Winning Photos
FRED'S FAVORITES
Fred LeBlanc, photographer extraordinaire, has been sailing aboard Maine's windjammers for nearly a decade, capturing the beauty and power of these majestic vessels. We asked Fred to review more than 300 contest entries and to select his top three images. He gave us four! He also included his reasons for choosing them:
Fred's Favorites, First Place
Headed for Home by Nancy Halsey
Fred: "Great action and I really like the painterly effect."
Fred's Favorites, Second Place
Schooner Victory Chimes by Peter Blouin
Fred: "Just a nice early morning fog lifting and still water reflection."
Fred's Favorites, Third Place
Windjammer Timberwind by Anna Davidson
Fred: "Nice use of foreground composition framing the Timberwind."
Fred's Favorites, Fourth Place
Painted Ships by John Duchene
Fred: "It's all about the reflection."
