Augusta, Maine - The ever-popular Swingtime Band returns to Lithgow Public Library on Wednesday, December 5 at 6:30 p.m. to kick off the library’s annual Holiday Concert Series. The free concerts are open to the public and take place in the Reading Room.
For more than a decade, Swingtime has been delighting audiences around the state with its jazzy brand of swing music from the 1930s, ‘40s and ‘50s. The band has played in many venues throughout central Maine, including the Augusta Country Club, Spectrum Generations Senior Expo, concerts at Jewett Hall at the University of Maine at Augusta, and at the Blaine Mansion. The band has also played at the Cohen Center in Hallowell, Togus VA Hospital, the Maine Veterans’ Home and various nursing homes.
Band members include Elaine Bender, bandleader and keyboard; Tino Liakus, guitar; Bob Estaberg, drums; and Norm Perrin, bass. All of the band members are professional musicians and all play in many other venues.
