Jarlath Henderson performs traditional Irish songs with 21st century sounds

Rockland, Maine - New Irish folk artist Jarlath Henderson will appear on the Strand Theatre stage on Friday, May 17 at 7:30pm.

Jarlath Henderson is a wildly inventive multi-instrumentalist and masterful balladeer from Northern Ireland who is best known as a remarkable player of uilleann pipes and  whistles. The three-time ‘All-Ireland Champion’ piper revives traditional songs, like murder ballads and love songs with a somber intensity and sublime original arrangements. Jarlath combines modern, rhythmically intense, percussive electronics to his traditional singing style to create signature sound that is all his own. He will be joined by Innes Watson (fiddle, guitar) and Duncan Lyall (double bass).

Tickets for the concert are $17/Advance. $20/Day of Show. Lobby and Balcony Bars will be open for age 21 and older. For more information, visit www.rocklandstrand.com. Tel: (207) 594-0070 EX 3  Email: info@rocklandstrand.com  The Strand Theatre, 345 Main Street, Rockland.
