The Belfast Public Works Department will begin cleanup for downtown Belfast on Wednesday May 1st 2019. We will be picking up material placed beside the street. There will be only one pickup per house within the by-pass, and there will be no return trips.
This is for material created from the past winter season – sand, leaves, natural materials and broken limbs. This service is not for the removal of larger items.(brush, trees or hedges). The larger items can be taken to the Transfer Station at no cost during our scheduled spring cleanup.
ALL MATERIALS MUST BE IN SEPARATE PILES OR THEY WILL NOT BE PICKED UP.
Yard rakings, leaves, and similar natural materials together in one pile. Wood and branches, no longer than 4 feet and no heavier than 40 pounds in another pile.
***ALL MATERIAL MUST BE PUT OUT NO LATER THAN Wednesday, May 1st 2019. ***
ABSOLUTELY NO GARBAGE, HOUSEHOLD REFUSE, WHITE GOODS, OR LUMBER WILL BE COLLECTED.
The purpose of this clean up in downtown Belfast is to keep our culverts, catch basins and storm drains clear. If you have any questions, please call Bob Richards, at
338-2375 between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday
Thank you for your cooperation.
