Wildfire Season: Caution Urged

Recent 314-acre fire in York County is a reminder 


AUGUSTA, Maine - Maine Forest Service Rangers are urging people to use caution and observe state laws regarding outdoor burning. Maine is in the midst of a busy wildfire season with dryer conditions, warming temperatures and high winds. On May 2, 2018, a 314-acre wildfire occurred in the towns of Kennebunk, Wells and Sanford. It has been determined that it likely resulted from failure to fully extinguish a fire.
