ROCKLAND, Maine - The Greatest Showman will be presented as sing-along screenings on Sunday, June 3 as a fundraiser for Strand Theatre educational programs. Showtimes are 3pm and 6pm. Costumes are encouraged, and all are welcome to arrive early for circus-themed fun prior to the show! Tickets are $10 for adults, and $5 for children under 12.
Inspired by the imagination of P.T. Barnum, The Greatest Showman is an original musical that celebrates the birth of show business and tells of a visionary who rose from nothing to create a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation. The movie is directed by Michael Gracey and stars Hugh Jackman, Michelle Williams, and Zac Efron. It is rated PG-13.
Due to underwriting support from Graffam Brothers, Fuller Chevrolet, and Home Kitchen Cafe, ticket proceeds will support the Strand Theatre's free educational programs, offered to students and schools in the midcoast.
The Strand Theatre became a nonprofit in January 2014 and is now operated by Friends of the Strand Theatre. Memberships, as well as grants, sponsorships and fundraising efforts, help pay the operating expenses for the wide range of cultural and educational programming the theater offers to the community.
